The winner for the most unexpected license at the most unexpected time goes to Kadokawa Pictures and their new anime Lucky Star. Allegedly, Kadokawa Picture broke us this fantastic news on the fourth volume of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The messenger was a short video, which can be seen above this paragraph, that showcases a scene from the show when the characters visit a maid café saturated with Haruhi characters (and voice actors). Now this might not be enough evidence for most of you, however, Kadokawa Pictures’ website now lists Lucky Star under their licensing and distribution section of their website; so this is going down people, and it’s going down now!
Lets hope that Lucky Star gets the same treatment as Haruhi does in the states. Meaning I want you, Bandai, to drown me in mountains of SWAG every time I purchase a Lucky Star DVD. Who wouldn’t like a life-sized Konata school uniform in their DVD box set, or one of those bakery chocolate-spiral thingies? I know I do.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN!
We all watched lucky star already, why are horribly encoded mpeg-2 copies getting people's panties in a bunch? Why not use that money to buy some quality Lucky Star japanese products like those cute figurines or CD dramas. Thats how you really support the japanese companies who own the rights of this show.
Putting aside my skepticism of the quality of the dub. Wendy Lee SHOULDN'T be the automatic choice. Aya Hirano does a very good job on differentiating her characters. I'm not putting down Wendy Lee's skill, but just because she voiced Haruhi doesn't mean she can do the matching Konata voice as well.
